Born into a large German / Italian family in Baltimore, Maryland, Rion Stassi was always a creative. Now he works for himself as an independent designer in New York and Chicago.
Before he obtained a Bachelor's in Industrial Design, Rion's passion for finding simple marriages between the aesthetic and utilitarian lead the Dean of his university's design school to introduce him to his first freelance client. Just after graduating Rion moved to Milan, Italy for two years and worked primarily in 3D-Animation, Product Development, and Furniture Design. Returning to the states, Rion took his first and only corporate job in North Carolina designing White Water Rapid sports equipment and Kayaks for an industry leader. From 2005 to 2010, he lived in Chicago continuing the career he left in Italy as an independent designer. Determined to cut his own path into the design world, Rion now lives in New York creating his own line of furniture while continuing to grow Chicago clients.
To date Rion has had work highlighted in the Sears Tower and Kennedy Center, has developed several products and custom furniture pieces, and strives to end his career with a strong international design presence.
